Spam Filters
What is an e-mail spam filter? How does it function? How can you activate spam filtering?
Most of the email messages sent around the globe nowadays are spam, i.e. unwanted messages with different offers or with links to malware. Not only are such emails irritating, but they also pose a threat to your PC, not to mention that you may be swindled. This is why, a lot of mail service providers resort to spam filters, which are software applications that keep track of all incoming emails and filter out the undesired ones on the basis of their content – what words or phrases an email message includes and how many times they’re mentioned, what web site a particular link opens, what outgoing SMTP email server the message is sent from, and so on. Certain hosting companies also use the databases of spam-tracing organizations dedicated to providing the most up-to-date info about unrequested emails, to make sure that their clients will not get any email message in their inbox that should not be there.

Spam Filters in Shared Hosting
The security of any mailbox that you set up in a shared hosting account with us is ensured by the advanced SpamAssassin filter that we employ. You can enable it through the Email Manager section of your Hepsia Control Panel and it offers 5 levels of protection based on the spam score given to every message depending on various parameters, such as the frequency of certain words and phrases, the sender, and so on. If you keep getting unsolicited bulk messages, you can always increase the level or if you are scared that you may miss a legitimate email message, you can mix the automatic email filter with a custom one and redirect all emails from a specific sender to some other email address. In case you decide that you no longer want an email filter for a certain mailbox, you can disable it with only several clicks.
- Spam Filters in Semi-dedicated Servers
If you reach the decision to use the email service that is offered with our semi-dedicated plans, you can keep all undesired email messages away from your inbox by enabling the 5-level spam protection service that we provide with each semi-dedicated plan. This can be achieved through the fully featured Email Manager section of the Control Panel and we use the powerful SpamAssassin email filter to make sure that we provide the best possible protection for our clients. You can have a different level of protection for each mailbox and you can choose if the filtered emails should be erased or re-sent to another email address where you can review them later so as to ensure that you won’t omit authentic emails. Changing the level of protection or deactivating the protection is also easy and requires a few clicks of the mouse. - Spam Filters in Semi-dedicated Servers
