FTP Accounts
Discover FTP accounts and about FTP as a whole - exactly what they are and when you will need them.
FTP, which is short for File Transfer Protocol, represents the most famous means for transferring content to a web hosting account. Using an FTP client application that is pre-installed on your desktop or laptop computer, you can set up a connection to your website hosting server and copy all of the files that you want with a couple of clicks of the mouse. You can do this via an easy-to-navigate GUI and it is as easy as dragging ‘n’ dropping the aforementioned files. The advantage of using File Transfer Protocol is the fact that you’ll be able to create different accounts, each one with a different level of access to your web space, so if you want to provide someone with access, for instance – a designer, they will be able to connect only to a specific folder and won’t be able to access the rest of your web content or any other info, such as personal details. Three things are necessary in order to be able to make an FTP connection – a hostname, which is usually a domain name or an IP address, a user name and a password.

FTP Accounts in Shared Hosting
You can create as many FTP accounts as you need with each of the shared plans offered by us, since we’ve chosen not to limit this service. In this way, you can run numerous sites all at once or grant other individuals access to separate directories. Once a given job has been done and you don’t want that person to be able to connect to your files any longer, you can update the password for the specific FTP account or you can just remove the account with several clicks and stop worrying about somebody accessing it again. The Hepsia Control Panel, which comes with all shared hosting plans, will permit you to check the full list of the existing FTP accounts listed in alphabetical order. It takes only a click to manage different options for any of them – to modify the access path or the password, to download an auto-configuration file, etc.
- FTP Accounts in Semi-dedicated Servers
With our custom-built Hepsia web hosting Control Panel, you will be able to create as many FTP accounts as you need, even different accounts that can access the same directory – if you wish different persons to be able to access the same website content with completely different login credentials. Our semi-dedicated plans don’t include a restriction on the total number of the FTP accounts that you can have at a time, so you will be able to manage your files and to modify your sites without effort. If you wish to stop the access to your content, you can alter the directory that an account can access or you can remove the account entirely with no more than a few clicks of the mouse from the Control Panel. You’ll be able to check all the accounts and to modify any of them, if needed. For convenience’s sake, you can also download an auto-config file for various FTP software applications. Furthermore, we have compiled detailed step-by-step articles and video tutorials, which will help you manage your FTP accounts in a seamless way.- FTP Accounts in VPS Servers
If you open a VPS web hosting plans with us and select any of the 3 Control Panels that we’re offering – cPanel, DirectAdmin or Hepsia, an FTP server will be installed on your virtual machine, since it is part of the standard software stack that comes with all VPSs ordered with a Control Panel. This will enable you to create as many FTP accounts as you wish and to choose which directory each of them will access. If you want, you can even create different FTP accounts for the same domain name and give a number of persons their own personal login details to access the content. Each of the 3 hosting Control Panels will provide you with the opportunity to create, to modify or to remove an FTP account in a few easy steps and with less than a few clicks of the mouse, so even in case you don’t have any prior experience, you will be able to administer an account without a hitch. - FTP Accounts in Semi-dedicated Servers
