AAAA Records
What precisely is an AAAA resource record? What role do AAAA records serve? Do you have to add one to your site?
AAAA is a domain address record, which is basically the IPv6 address of the server where the domain name is hosted. The IPv6 system was designed to replace the current IPv4 system in which each and every IP address is made up of four sets of decimal numbers between 1 to 255 e.g. 5.168.208.143. In contrast, an IPv6 address features 8 sets of four hexadecimal digits - which range from 0 to 9 and from A to F. The cause of this modification is the significantly smaller amount of unique IPs the present system supports as well as the quick increase of units that are connected to the world wide web. An illustration of an IPv6 address would be 2101:1f34:32e2:2415:1365:4f2b:2553:1345. If you wish to point a domain to a web server that uses such an address, you have to create an AAAA record for it, and not the widely used A record, which is an IPv4 address. The 2 records deliver the exact same function, but different notations are used, to distinguish the two forms of addresses.

AAAA Records in Shared Hosting
If you'd like to create a new AAAA record for any domain or subdomain hosted within your shared hosting account, it is not going to take you more than a few easy steps to do that. Our in-house built Hepsia CP is rather intuitive to use and it'll allow you to create or modify every record effortlessly. As soon as you sign in and go to the DNS Records section, where you'll discover all existing records for your domain names and subdomains, you will just have to click the "New" button, pick out AAAA from a small drop-down menu in the pop-up that will appear, type or paste the necessary IPv6 address and save the change - it is as simple as that. The new record is going to be 100% live within a maximum of 1 hour and the hostname that you have created it for shall start opening whatever content you have with the other company. If needed, you are also going to be able to change the TTL (Time To Live) value, which shows the time in seconds which the new record will be live after you eventually change it to something different or you simply remove it.
- AAAA Records in Semi-dedicated Servers
As our cutting-edge cloud web hosting platform supports AAAA records, you are going to be able to create one without difficulty for every domain address or subdomain which you host within a semi-dedicated server account from our company and the new record is going to propagate within the hour, to enable you to start using the services of any other service provider you direct the domain/subdomain to in no time. You could create the record from the DNS Records section of your Hepsia hosting Control Panel in which you will also find all of the other records that were set up automatically or you have set up manually in the past. The creation of the new AAAA record is as basic as picking out the needed domain or subdomain and the AAAA type through simple drop-down menus, typing the IPv6 address inside a text box and saving the change. You will be able to modify the record at any time if needed. If the other company needs a specific TTL value for the new record, you'll be able to change this setting too. The Time To Live option specifies how long an existing record will keep functioning after you edit it or erase it and the time is in seconds. - AAAA Records in Semi-dedicated Servers
